Headlining on the main stage at Download for the first time The Prodigy absolutely stormed the crowd with their fusion of dance, pounding percussion, crunching guitar and crowd pumping vocals provided by Maxim Reality and Keith Flint. Choosing The Prodigy over Slash featuring Miles Kennedy was as agonising choice but the Essex ravers more than justified the decision. Culminating in the dramatic 'Deliverance' Opeth dominated the stage, nailing a complex song with imperious ease.Īs ever with the Download festival the clashes can leave some in a moral dilemma. Swedish prog rock outfit Opeth lightened up the Zippo stage with a set comprising of new and old material. Old school American punk outfit NOFX playfully poked fun at the conditions at Donington on the Friday and their unique combination of catchy trumpet licks mixed with comedic vocals kept a wide smile on the crowd.
